According to EC documents, since 2009, the European branch of the McDonald’s chain has paid 1.49 percent of taxes on $1.8 billion in profits to the EU budget. At the same time, the amount of taxes in Luxembourg, where the company’s headquarters is located, was supposed to be 29.2 percent of profits.
