Madonna gave the biggest concert of her career

The thing is that the show was free for viewers. It was entirely paid for by the local mayor’s office, spending almost four million dollars with the expectation that such a large-scale event would have a good impact on the city’s economy and bring it almost 15 times its profit.

Madonna’s show lasted about two hours. On it, the singer performed, among other things, her hits Like a Prayer, Vogue, Express Yourself. According to local authorities, the cost of the concert cost the mayor’s office $3.9 million, while the rest was financed by private sponsors. It is estimated that the show could bring about $59 million to the city’s economy.

The previous record for the largest number of spectators at a Madonna concert was recorded at a show in Paris in 1987. Then the show of the American performer was attended by 130 thousand people.
